How to calculate IBPS Final Score

How to calculate the final score is a common question among the IBPS PO aspirants. Here we will talk about how to calculate IBPS PO final score.

The IBPS PO recruitment consist of three stages; Prelims, Mains, and Interview. The marks obtained in the Prelims and Mains examination are normalized score.

IBPS PO Mains Normalized Score

It is the score which is shown in the scorecard released by IBPS. The scorecard contains the individual score of each subject (Reasoning, General Awareness, English, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and English Language Descriptive paper). The maximum marks for the Mains stage are 225.

Corrected Score: It the original marks a candidate gets. The corrected score is obtained after adding correct answer marks and subtracting the negative marks for wrong answers.

Normalized Score: The normalized score is calculated by using the equi-percentile method on the corrected score obtained by candidates across different exam shifts. It is being done to take into account the level of difficulty across different shifts.

Score up to two decimal points is taken for the purpose of calculation.

80% weightage is given to the Mains normalized score toward the calculation of the final score.

IBPS PO Interview

The total score allotted for the interview is 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in interview is 40 ( 35 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates) out of 100.

The weightage of the Interview in the final score calculation is 20%.

IBPS PO Final Score Calculation

The total marks which are taken into account for the merit list are a combination of Mains score and Interview marks. The weightage of the Mains normalized score and Interview score is in the ratio of 80:20.

For example, a candidate scores 110 marks in the mains written examination. As it is given 80% weightage so the mains marks to be taken for the final result calculation are 110*80/225 = 39.11.

Now suppose the candidate gets 65 marks in Interview. As we know the weightage of the interview is 20% so the interview marks to be taken for the calculation of the final score are 65/5 = 13.

Thus by adding the Mains exam score the Interview score the final score of the candidate is 39.11+13 = 52.11 out of 100.

This score will be used for the merit list of successful candidates.
